The Briars Park features an Historic Homestead, out buildings and a 23 hectare Wildlife Reserve with Wetlands which are steeped in local history, flora and fauna.
The Briars homestead was completed in 1851 and occupied by Alexander Balcombe. After failing to find his fortune at the goldfields Balcombe farmed the land and tended 40 hectares of vineyards.
The Briars has a visitor’s centre, wildlife sanctuary, wetlands, gardens, nursery, vineyard, café, restaurant, kiosk and picnic areas. Activities include School Holiday Activities, Night Bush Walks, and the Eco Living Display Centre. Grounds and Briars Barn are available for Function Hire and wedding receptions. Several community events are held at the Briars during the year. Dogs are not permitted at the Briars.
